We Came As Romans “To Move On Is To Grow” Single Review

January 27, 2012 in Music, Singles RealViews

Sure, it’s an old single, but it’s just that good to bring up here in early 2012. Originally a B-side song from WCAR’s premier album, To Plant A Seed, “To Move On Is To Grow” is a song that has no room for breathers in its breakneck pace. A constant barrage of aggressive guitars and pummeling drums ensure an enjoyable listen for  my fellow metalheads.

The vocal interplay between clean vocalist Kyle and screamer David is a treat for the ears, interchanging at a good clip and the fact that it’s predictable never becomes a hindrance. The very first line sung is catchy as hell right off the bat and it segues greatly into David’s more aggressive delivery and drummer Eric shows he can be both pissed off at his at his drum set, beating it to all hell, while finely caressing the sweet sounds of the cymbals. “To Move On Is To Grow” is never unpredictable, but a very, very good slice of a fun, melodic track that you can sing along to or sever your neck to.
